CUADP helps send the message in Illinois

march_1 When the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (www.ncadp.org) decided to hold its 2002 annual conference in Chicago, no one could have known that the weekend would coincide with the culmination of a series of clemency hearings being given to every Illinois death row prisoner. Prosecutors trotted out the victims families in most of the cases, ripping the scabs off of their wounds once again as part of the lie that "you'll feel better when we kill him."

march_2 With a march and rally planned for the plaza just outside the state building where the hearings were being held, the abolition movement could not back down, but it had to be clear in its message. CUADP knew just which banner to bring.
Sure enough, for the third year in a row, an image featuring CUADP's message/sign was prominent in the local news coverage of the National Coalition's event. We must be doing something right!
